Let's Play Again
Games that make it onto the list must have a high addition rate.
This means the game does not get dull even after being played
again and again and again. You won't see Old Maid on the list.
We All Can Play
High scores go to games that can be played with more than two players.
A good game is something that one should be able to drag out at 8:PM
and keep the guests up until 3:AM. You won't see Solitaire on the
list.
It's the Thought That Counts
Strategy plays an important part in the game selections. Games of
chance hardly stand a chance of making it onto the list. You'll
never see CandyLand on the list.
I Never Saw That Before
The games must have be out of the ordinary. Someone looking at the
game should be forced to say out load "Oooohh... what's that?!"
You won't see Chess on the list.
No Merchandising
Games that are nothing more than merchandising are considered nothing
more than rip-offs. You won't see Star Wars Special Edition Monopoly
on the list.
It Won't Take Long To Learn
The game must be easy to pick up and teachable in a short period of
time to a number of people.
What Happens In the Case Of...?
The rules should be well defined so that players don't get into the
position of arguing different ways to play the move.
Now It's My Turn
The game should not be a computer or video game. It must be one that
you can pull out in a group of people without having to retire to
the computer room; it must be something you can play during a blackout;
it must be something you can throw in the back of the car and take on
vacation. You won't see Doom on the list.
