{"id":412,"date":"2008-09-02T10:21:28","date_gmt":"2008-09-02T15:21:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wwco.com\/~wls\/blog\/?p=412"},"modified":"2008-09-02T10:21:28","modified_gmt":"2008-09-02T15:21:28","slug":"muppet-bodies-the-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wls.wwco.com\/blog\/2008\/09\/02\/muppet-bodies-the-exhibition\/","title":{"rendered":"Muppet Bodies: The Exhibition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.badmonkeybrain.com\/\">Jerry Carr<\/A> is a cartoonist, known for <A HREF=\"http:\/\/jerrycarr.deviantart.com\/\">monkeys, babes<\/A>, and the <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.cryptozoocrewonline.com\/\">graphic novel Cryptozoo Crew<\/A>, which looks like it may be <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.cinematical.com\/tag\/CryptozooCrew\/\">made into a movie<\/A>, amongst other things.<\/p>\n<p>While visiting <A HREF=\"http:\/\/www.new.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=1018347370\">Jerry&#8217;s Facebook page<\/A>, I saw his status message was set to this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Jerry is freshly motivated after a day at the Jim Henson Muppets display at the Smithsonian!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Unfortunately, I couldn&#8217;t help myself.  I had to comment on his wall:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wwco.com\/~wls\/livejournal\/MuppetBodies.jpg\" width=\"173\" height=\"144\" alt=\"Muppet Bodies: The Exhibition\" style=\"border: thin solid black; float:right; margin-left: 1em; margin-top:1em; margin-bottom: 2em;\">The display you really want to see is &#8220;Muppet Bodies,&#8221; where they take a bunch of preserved, dead muppets and puppeteers and cut them in half, showing you the insides.<\/p>\n<p>You can see how the tendons connect to the distal phalanges in order to produce more articulated facial expressions.<\/p>\n<p>Note, though, there&#8217;s a special baby muppets section, which shows the progression of muppet fetuses, starting from a simple spool of thread and piece of fabric.
