No Flush Urinal

Water conservation taken too far. How does one flush this urinal?

I’ve heard of water conservation before. But how are you supposed to flush this thing? There’s not even a visible sensor.

  1. Actually, this is very common in the UK. While i was there I saw a variety of different urinals from the old fashioned trough that just slants to the drain across the whole wall, to what we would consider a mini urinal that was about 1.5 ft cubed. Most did not have any handles to flush, they were set on a timer inside the wall and all of them flushed at once, every so often. I’m not sure if this is a good idea or not. I did see a couple fo times where it was close to the end of the flush cycle and things were getting a little odorous, but for the most part it wasn’t bad. I’m guessing that it is a “greener” urinal, in that less water is used in the long run, but when that rare instance happens that you are the last of 10 guys using the urinal before it flushes, it can be a bit ripe.

I guess it depends on the amount of use and who is footing the bill whether these are useful or not.
